Our Mission
At Meadow Branch Animal Hospital, we believe in evidence-based medicine, and strive to make the gold standard of care practical for each patient and owner. Collectively, our veterinarians utilize both experience and up-to-date clinical approaches. Our nursing staff and client relations team are dedicated and passionate, and because they are such an important part of patient care, MBAH emphasizes education and training for them. Our ultimate goal is to provide positive outcomes for each patient’s medical or surgical needs, and we aim to revolutionize primary veterinary care, veterinary surgery, and veterinary urgent care (appointment required) for our area.

Our Veterinarians

Dr. Marcelo has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1993 and is dedicated to providing the best possible care for your pets. His passions include soft tissue surgery (abdominal procedures), knee surgery (TPLO and extra capsular technique), dental and oral surgery, endoscopy, abdominal ultrasonography and recently laparoscopic procedures.

Dr. Hazy holds a B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology from Liberty University before going to Virginia Tech to enter the dual DVM-PhD program in 2015. She studied traumatic brain injury at VT and earned a PhD in Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences. Dr. Házy is excited to apply her knowledge and experience here at MBAH.

Dr. Swisher worked with Dr. Marcelo as a veterinary student during an externship after graduating from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. Her interests include ultrasonography, endocrine diseases, infectious disease, emergency medicine, and soft tissue surgery.
